Jersey Live is good for us in so many ways

On September 4, 2011, in Tourism, by Lyndon-Farnham

THE Island’s Tourism sector and economy as a whole have benefitted from this years Jersey Live festival.   It is estimated that 2-3000people from the UK and elsewhere are  in Jersey to attend the Jersey Live music festival. It is also estimated that each visitor will spend at least £100 per day while in the Island.  The event is a sell-out, with 10,000 people descending on the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity to see bands including Madness, Plan B and The Streets, together with many other artists as well as local bands and DJ’s.

I would like to congratulate the organisers and all involved for staging such a truly spectacular event.  Events of this type are tangible evidence that we must develop and invest in our conference and events programme if we wish to continue to deliver important additional boosts to our economy throughout the year as well as providing world class entertainment for our islanders and visitors.

With the slating Jersey Live has had recently it’s so nice to see a potential senator support this event and highlight the positive’s which events such as Jersey Live bring to the island. I think events such as Jersey Live need way more political support than they currently get…
