A Stronger Partnership with Jersey’s Charitable Sector
Charities play a vital role in Jersey. Every day, they support Islanders, strengthen our communities, and often step in where others cannot.
Through my role as Chair of Age Concern Jersey, I see first-hand the difference the charitable sector makes, and the challenges it faces. I understand how important it is that charities are properly supported and able to plan for the future.
I believe we need to work more closely with the sector, not just as service providers, but as trusted partners.
If elected, I will support a stronger, more consistent partnership between Government and charities by:
• Recognising charities as strategic partners in policymaking and service delivery
• Providing more stable, multi-year funding for essential services
• Consulting charities earlier on policies that affect the communities they serve
• Ensuring fair and transparent commissioning and procurement processes
• Investing in the long-term strength and sustainability of the sector
This is about giving charities the certainty they need to plan ahead, and ensuring their experience and insight help shape better decisions for Jersey, delivering the services and support that Islanders rely on when they need it most.
